Storybook Movement Workshops

Explore movement, music, and literature with your body! Alive's Storybook Movement Workshops invite participants to bring books to life through coloring, collaboration, and creative movement. In each hour-long workshop, students create movement stories inspired by a read-aloud. Books are based on a theme such as nature, colors, processing emotions, or overcoming obstacles. Participants are encouraged to move in ways that feel good to their bodies and fully express the emotions, themes, and storylines of our book. We work collaboratively to create movement phrases to perform as a group and finish with a dance game! This workshop is easily adapted to varying ages, physical abilities, interests, and community groups.
